Letter From The Founder - To Okie.
My name is Jerald, and I want to share the story behind Okie Kibbles. How it all started with one terrified little kitten. I found Okie behind a kopi tiam in Yishun on a stormy night, soaked and trembling. His eyes darted around every time I tried to feed him, and no matter which canned food or store-bought kibble I offered, he refused to eat. It was as though he didn’t trust me, or anyone else for that matter.
Every day, my anxiety grew. No matter how many types of cat food I brought home, he’d sniff, back away, and hide. Watching a hungry kitten shy away from food was heartbreaking. I couldn’t bear the thought of him wasting away, so I decided to try something different: real meat. I experimented with small portions of chicken, gently cooking it to make the smell more tempting and the texture easier for him to manage. Little by little, Okie took a few hesitant bites, and my relief was immeasurable.
Seeing that spark of trust changed everything for me. I realized that if this simple mix of meat could open Okie’s heart and appetite, there had to be a way to turn it into an accessible product for other finicky or anxious cats. So I spoke with vets and pet nutritionists, refining that homemade blend into a complete kibble formula made mostly of real, high-quality poultry.
When Okie finally started eating regularly, I knew we’d found our solution. He regained his energy, his coat started to shine, and he began to approach me with curiosity instead of fear. That transformation became our inspiration, and we decided to share it with other cat owners who might be facing the same struggles. That’s how Okie Kibbles was born: from a moment of crisis and a sincere desire to help a little kitten feel safe, loved, and nourished.
